I am an Assistant Professor in Computing in Department of Computing, Imperial College London. My research interests centre around the practical implementations and applications of the quantum computers, especially in the near-term and early fault-tolerant regime. I also holds the EPSRC Quantum Technologies Fellowship. Prior to this, I was the EPSRC fellow in Engineering Science, Oxford, and the Junior Research Fellow in Physics at St John’s College, Oxford.
I usually just go by my surname “Cai” (pronounced as “ts-eye”, which nicely rhymes with Ψ). But I am happy for people to call me “Zhenyu” as well.
I am currently looking for talented individual passionate about building practical quantum technologies to join my group, please see this page for more details.
