— Reliable quantum computing, from hardware to algorithms

We are a quantum computing research group at Imperial College London, led by Zhenyu Cai.

Our interests span quantum error mitigation and correction, quantum architectures, and quantum algorithms. We are interested in how these areas connect, and in finding useful ways to work with the constraints of real devices.

Controlling quantum errors

We develop methods to suppress quantum errors and understand how different approaches can work together. Our research spans quantum error mitigation, quantum error correction, and their integration within the same computation.

Related publications

Connecting algorithms to realistic resource costs

We develop and analyse methods for quantum simulation, learning and other applications on noisy and early fault-tolerant devices. We connect algorithm design and circuit compilation to error control and physical implementation, accounting for qubits, runtime, repeated measurements and classical processing. These assessments identify practical bottlenecks and guide improvements across the computation.
